Course Persian Philosophy: The Red Intellect

The purpose of organizing the Red Intellect course, 8 lessons, is to get acquainted with one of the most beautiful Persian symbolic stories written by one of the most important Iranian philosophers and the founder of philosophy of Illumination, Yahya Sohrevardi. 

This story is full of symbols that depict the world and our existential situation in it. Can we experience and depict the mystical atmosphere of this story? Can we re-narrate our own story in the mystical and spiritual atmosphere of this story? Can the atmosphere of this story open a new space for thinking and philosophical development of contemporary human?

After the discussion we will start expressing ourselves by those narratives through making art. Guided by art teacher Parisa Akbarzadehpoladi.

This course is designed for anyone who is curious and wants to explore their inner world through art, in connection with the “Red Intellect” course, regardless of their artistic background.No prior drawing experience is required. This course is giving by lecturer Zahra Barhemand, PhD in Persian Language and Literature.

Parisa Akbarzadeh Poladi (Tehran, 1978) is a versatile artist and educator with a deep passion for visual storytelling and social justice. Her artistic expression includes both powerful illustrations and poignant photography, through which she tells stories that matter. In Iran, she laid the foundation for her career in documentary production and television, where she experienced the impact of visual media on social issues.
